It is well known among experts that the yeast-like fungi; Malassezia furfur, is among the main factors for the development of dandruff. They commonly colonize the seborrheic parts of the skin and they sustain themselves by consuming the fatty acids present in normal sebum (oil secretions) produced by the skin. They will breaking down the sebum to oleic acid and our body will react to the present of oleic acid & shed the cell flakes faster (we call this as dandruff). When this happen, normally the flakes is kind of moisty flakes and normally it comes together with itchy, redness scalp and the dandruff/scalp might be slightly smelly.
Dry scalp and sensitivity to certain hair care products also will lead to dandruff formation. Thanks to our skin protective barrier that separates the scalp from the harsh elements and transforms dead skin cells into a tough, protective layer and shedding it faster (we call this as dandruff). I’ve tried a lot of anti-dandruff shampoo before but the problem doesn’t seem to disappear. But this shampoo does the job very, very well, I’m impressed! This is my first try on shampoo bar and I’ve been using it for two weeks. It smells good – light and not overpowering, and it lathers very well, which I hadn’t expected it to. my staple product now. I was using their Dandruff-Who shampoo bar previously but then I had a keratin treatment and was looking for an SLS-free and salt-free shampoo that doesn’t break the bank, and at the same time is still packaging-free. So lucky to have found this product! my hair maintained its post-keratin texture and it lathers very well too (though not as much as the SLS version). please don’t stop making this!

This is my first time using a shampoo bar. I have oily scalp with no dandruff and was looking for a sulfate-free shampoo bar. I was then introduced to this Bye-bye Dandruff Sulfate-free Shampoo Bar. I fall in love with it right away on the first wash. It lathers very well (I’m using it with a soap net) as mentioned in the reviews. Amazingly, it doesn’t leave my hair feel dry after washing. My hair is super soft instead even without using conditioner. I’m loving it!

I switched to this from Truly Kind (Sulphate Free) for the sake of variety. These two were extremely comparable imo, Bye-bye Dandruff might be a hair more moisturizing, which I like. My scalp is no longer as itchy and my hair feels super soft even without conditioner! I just missed the candy scent Truly Kind has. This one does not really have much fragrance which is a great option to those with a more sensitive scalp, though i can see how Truly Kind can also work for sensitive scalps. 5 stars for longevity when you store it as recommended.
